President Bill Clinton will appear at the University of Kansas on Friday, May 21. He was asked by the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics.
He is scheduled to speak at the Allen Field House at 2:15 pm. Doors open at 12:30pm. Tickets are free but are required for admittance: 2 per person.
This location is a change from the original location of the Lied Center. The Lied Center holds 2,000 people. The tickets were originally offered last Wednesday, and my wife camped out in line Tuesday night to be certain she got some. She was one of the first few hundred recipients. However, since so many people DID NOT get tickets that, at the request of Clinton’s office and the Dole Institute, his appearance was moved to the larger field house, which holds 16,000. (although only about 12,000 tickets will be provided—I don’t know for certain, but suspect security issues may have dropped the number from the maximum of 16,000).
(Additional) tickets are available today for KU students and KU “folks” from noon to 6pm--and tomorrow for the general public from 9am to 6pm.
