8. Are you straight?
If you are, are you going to end your relationship and immediately enter into a gay civil union?
I know I'm going home right now to end my 9 year relationship, become a lesbian and begin practicing witchcraft.

3. Not so fast
Do you think 9-11 could have been a divine pre-emptive retribution for gay marriage?

Just trying to think Bush and Ashcroft. It hurts.

4. As I mentioned in another thread
In Cambridge, Mass., Phelps' Gods Hate Fags were out picketing gay marriage. Two of their placards were especially insane:

"Thank God for 911" and
"God blew up the shuttle"

Perhaps we are witnessing the decline of the nation, as evidence by Phelps and the government-approved torture and humiliation of Iraqi prisoners. Gay marriage is a ray of hope in a dark and evil right-wing era.

6. but there's a plus side to such placards
They make it abundantly clear who's "fringe" and who's "mainstream" on this issue.

"God blew up the shuttle" -- how timely and relevant! :eyes:

7. Are you shi**ing me. No wonder the news was light with the protesters.
The news I watch all but ignored any protetsers, short of just mentioning some were there.

9. Phelps "God" seems even more fond of death and destruction
than he usually did, even in the OT. I suspect Phelps is actually worshipping an extra malignant manifestation of Kali. (My apologies to any worshippers of Kali who would like to point out her redeeming features.)

5. was in Northampton this morning
Northampton is one of the most gay-friendly Massachusetts towns. I was there this morning (albeit only briefly) and nothing unusual seemed to be going on.

That's the best part of all this -- after the initial excitement dies down, life for those of us not involved in a gay marriage will go on exactly as it always has. People will realize this, and the resistance will just disappear.

10. Ah, yes, the moral decay that comes from people who love each other
committing the spend the rest of their lives together. What is this nation coming to? Won't somebody please think of the children?
