Kennedy Back To Fighting Weight
On the lighter side... Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) "reportedly has dieted off more than 40 pounds - and counting - and hopes to lose more by this summer's Democratic National Convention," the Boston Herald reports.

"Usually, Kennedy's dieting frenzy coincides with a political campaign. He likes to get into fighting form. This year, Kennedy claims, it is John Kerry's presidential campaign that has him fired up to trim down." Pundits says Kennedy "simply wants to cut a dashing figure when the spotlight shines on him and Massachusetts during the Democratic National Convention this summer."

7. Possibly
Many have called him the most effective Senator ever. That's not exactly "best," but it's quite a compliment.

9. "most effective"/ "best"
different people will use different adjectives. But if we were to identify the one senator who has done the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people, most democrats would put Kennedy on their short list. For many of us, being the most effective, having the greatest grasp of the methods of the institution, and getting those results for so many people, makes him the greatest senator of our time.

3. Mental image: I trim and buff Ted
looking at George saying "I must break you" in an Austrian accent.

4. It will be a cold day in hell before Ted slims down.
Then again,he's 72 years old so nature will take care of the fat eventually.

There are no fat 90 year olds.
