One thing I hear a lot while proselytizing about liberal and Democratic virtues down here is that Democrats aren't worth supporting because they only stand up for 'gays, abortionists, and minorities'.

Maybe this kind of claptrap is why some might have that impression.

As to why rucky would be worried about it I haven't a clue. :)

We'll see where this poll winds up in the end.

Also, it may be that the thread title is unintentionally deselecting for those NOT straight, white, and male due to it's wording

(which could be construed that this poll is ONLY for straight, white, males, as non StWM's steer clear that way a non-vet wouldn't butt into a "DU Veterans" thread, generally-speaking)

Also in the "neglected" part of the electorate, i.e. (currently) single women.

All the straight white males among my family & close friends intend to vote Democratic, though, even the one who spouts Fundamentalist religious views.
