1. It's sad when you can't believe anything a president tells you
Seriously, it's becoming a friggen joke. I can't believe that Bush can even ride on the credibility ticket anymore.

2. Headlines blare !!!
Then you get the real story.....

The former top U.S. weapons inspector in Iraq, David Kay, said it was possible the shell was an old relic overlooked when Saddam said he had destroyed such weapons in the mid-1990s.

Kay, in a telephone interview with The Associated Press, said he doubted the shell or the nerve agent came from a hidden stockpile, although he didn't rule out that possibility.

5. Isn't that convenient! Every time * gets in trouble possible WMD's
show up and then there is the Berg beheading. Faux is going nuts on these two stories and the talking points are out to all the Wingnut
radio shows. I am convinced they will do anything to win this election
I wouldn't put murder or anything past these people.

9. Actually, many/most of the RWers (the ones who aren't TOTAL idiots)
"expect" these events too ("WMD" events, Osama-on-ice, etc.). They're kinda cynical about the whole thing and expect lying and cheating from their "team" also.

10. Yeah, heard this on NPR on way home from work
Said possibly contained Sarin gas. Also heard them say the car bomb that killed the Iraqi counsel head was set off by Al Zarqawi. Bringing out the WMD and Iraqi ties to Al Qaeda all in one day. They've lied so many times, no way I'm going to believe any of their reports at this point.

12. Of course they found WMD.
Didn't you really wonder how they were going to distract everyone from the shitty approval ratings W got this past week, the reports that Rummy and the rest of the corrupt cabal not only knew about prisoner abuse-they basically okayed it, an Iraqi leader got killed, Colin's aide tried to decide what we should see and hear, etc.? Rummy even said that we shouldn't jump to conclusions on this. One shell? And they aren't even sure? (Unless you're watching FOX. They seem convinced that this is the big find.)

It is too bad that I can't trust a word out of this misadministration's collective mouth. Sad, sad, sad. Just another sideshow, useful only for distraction.

13. Faux has had "Chemical Agents Found in Iraq" on its site for hours...
Which is what you'd expect from the propaganda arm of the * regime.

Their "story" includes this ludicrous line (among many):

"U.S. officials told Fox News that the shell discovery is a "significant" event."

WHAT U.S. officials????? WHO????? I believe NOTHING I hear/read on Faux.

One -- ONE -- petered-out artillery shell, that hasn't even been lab-tested yet. Oh yeah, **these** are the WMDS!!!

:puke:

17. Faux News makes me laugh. They remind me of the Mary Tyler Moore Show
remember Ted Knight as the news anchor man who can't get enough of himself yet has the intelligence quotient of a mailbox?

Faux News are SO full of themselves and so determined to propagandize the news its just to the point of ridiculousness.

16. About dropped teeth when Anderson Cooper came on this evening
and started spitting out the headlines of the day and got to the shell with the sarin gas and said it was a roadside device, exploded, etc. "right where the CIA put it"!!!! He never went into anything like that in the following story but he sure let a good one out of the bag with that remark!!!

18. Funny...
I thought yall might find this funny.

On a board I frequent, there are two guys, one, a rabidRepug, and another who is a moderate something (he's canadian, so I don't know what affiliation he has there, but he's stated he identifies with the Dems) are constantly going at it. Well, rabidRepug has been crowing about the "WMD find". Canadian goes on to state "It's old, probably from ten or more years ago" and has some tough questions for rabidRepug. Dead silence from rabidRepug, and, when others question his silence, canadian replies

"He won't know the answers to those questions until Rush tells him. And Rush won't know till Karl tells him.
And Karl won't know until Satan tells him."

I just about peed my pants.

19. Of course when folks point out the obvious fact . . .
that this isn't exactly the hundreds of tons of such material that the Bush administration had previously described as a "conservative estimate," we can expect the bleeting of "liberal media" taunts. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

20. This is just the "primer for the pump". More are coming
They're whetting our appetite with this one find. Very soon, they'll "discover" the cache of missiles where this one supposedly came from.

Just watch. You know I'm right.

The bastards.

...wafting threateningly over the roadway. Of course, the picture had nothing to do with the story other than to look scary. Booga booga booga!
