C-SPAN WJ: Duncan Hunter...Kool Aid Drinker

A couple gems from the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee...

- Don't bother our military leaders while a war is going on by yanking up to testify about torture done by a "few bad apples" (when will that meme die???)

- Iraqis need to practice democracy first...that's what June 30th is about, before they can actually be responsible for their own sovereignty.

- Terrorists are everywhere and only Repugnicans know who they are and how to deal with them. Democrats who speak out against what Repugnicans spend or how this regime has run this invasion and occupation fraudulently are traitors and "don't know the whole story".

- Clinton left the mess "I" have helped to clean up :barf:

- Got a "bronze star"...but didn't want to talk about it. (Anyone know why? A politician...a Repugnican politician from So. Cal Wackoland not waiving his military credentials like B-1 Bob?)

It's so mind boggling, it boggles the mind.

the pictures-deliberately didn't mention CBS held up on pictures for 2 weeks - acted like they were guilty of Berg's death.

Yep...he's trying all he can to fight the blowback. The RNC put him out there to with every spin point from the past week...seeing what will stick. Desperation in action.

The pictures supposedly were in wide circulation around the military for months. I'm so sick of this "we told the media about this in January" crap. As usual, it's not the outrage...it's being caught that hurts these slimeballs.

Two things about my representative. And I can't believe I'm saying something in his favour, but:

He served in combat in Viet Nam.

And his son joined the Marines after 9/11. He's currently a lieutenant.

Other than that, he's a standard wingnut.

voted for the thug in his first campaign. I was a democratic district, and he won by a small margin. Then redistricting made it a safe seat and his true colors came out. I'm Sorry DU!!!!!!

I am so tired of listening to this nonsense. He is an ad campaign for Halliburton, praising all of the hard work and risks they have taken by providing food and restoration for the Iraqi people. Excuse me while I vomit.

He's from San Diego...contractor heaven.

You can bet he's on the top lists of the major defense contractors and has stonewalled any investigation into the role of contractor/mercenaries in this invasion.

I sure hope a lot of military families get to hear these clowns...how disengenuous they are with the lives of their loved ones.

Also...don't quote me on the Bronze Star...there was some mention of a decoration. Hunter did mention his service in '71-'72, but didn't mention if it was Nam or elsewhere (from hearing him trash the Koreans I can assume it wasn't there).

Hunter has been a continued beneficiary of major MIC contributors including companies currently providing "contract interrogators" in Iraq.

"few bad apples" - yes a terribly tired saw, but scientifically speaking a few bad apples do, indeed, spoil the whole basket.
