The Palestine/Israel situation
Can anybody suggest some good books on the Israel/Palestine conflict? I have The Israel-Arab Reader: A Documentary History of the Middle East Conflict, but I'm looking for some others. In particular books that present both the Palestinian side and the Israeli Side (although not necessarily in the same book.

1. Good books on the Israel/Palestinian conflict
A couple of books that I like - "Image and Reality of the Israel-Palestine Conflict" by Norman Finkelstein and "The Iron Wall" by Avi Shlaim

2. bryant69, be wary of recommendations on this divisive topic
For example, these two recommended by CulturalNomad are anti-Israel, particularly the first. The obvious Jewishness of their authors should not, of course, bestow automatic credence. Each of these has dozens of reader comments at Amazon.com; check it out.

3. I'm currently reading a book called "Arab and Jew" by
David Shipler & would recommend it -- it's more a series of personal stories of those from both sides, rather than a history of the region, but both fascinating & probably as objective as you're likely to get!
