Poll question: Which Is the Real Reason Bush Now Wants to Demolish Abu Ghraib
Edited on Tue May-18-04 04:57 PM by David Zephyr
The GOP and the Bush Administration suddenly seem in a big hurry to demolish Abu Ghraib. Why is this, one wonders?

6. Can't Edit Now, But Should Have Said "Attempt"
They can't wait to get the prison torn down now, can they. Bush's rape rooms. Don't think we'll be hearing that term much anymore from the chimp.

4. The "Ghosts" in that place cry out to be heard, and yet when they have
their chance to be heard, they are treated to more "violations of their physical space." Maybe, it comes down to, "voices of the dead" saying whomever does it ...."Let It BE DONE!"

I thought once that the prison should be razed and made into a memorial for sufferings that happened there in past. However, if the reason is to make our presence there covered up, then I say no. Now we need to preserve the evidence. This so sucks. It's hard to know what is right.

It is a body blow. It is a punch in the gut. It is heartbreaking. And Cleita, I hear you: "This so sucks." :hi:

13. Same reason they hauled away all the evidence in the WTC implosion
If you get rid of evidence, you have no case.

15. To make it "all go away." Not evidence, but memory in the eyes of voters.
