How cruel can conservative radio go?
Edited on Tue May-18-04 05:35 PM by SuffragetteSal
While in my car I hit the local 750 am channel, http://www.kxl.com/ and i couldn't believe my ears. I missed the subject but it was something like "Democrats we can live without" and a youngish sounding woman calls says that when the people of Minnesota had cried for their loss, while others stood straight faced at the loss of Paul Wellstone and she said he was the one liberal whom she was glad was gone. The radio personality, whom I believe was a fellow named Tony Snow, says "don't you feel at least a little human emotion that he died?". And she said it was better the world was without his liberal politics during this time of our fighting the evil of terrorism, etc etc.

I am shocked that anyone would say this on the air. A perfect reminder of why we here are proud to be democrats. Paul Wellstone, may he rest in peace and may we take up the challenge to carry on.

3. Let's not forget Ann Coulter
who thought it was great lunch conversation with an interviewer to talk about it was too bad that Timothy McVeigh hadn't targeted the New York Times, instead.

2. You listen to KXL when you could be
listening to Air America on 620????

I hope you'll give Air America and Randi Rhodes
a try. You'll feel much better, I promise!!

4. I pushed the wrong button!
620 was #1 in the car and I accidently pushed #2 which was 750. Oh woe is me! I will never get used to hearing such trash from these conservatives. They are the evil ones.

5. God, it took me weeks to clear
out the Hannity sludge when AAR came on. It's really
amazing.

(I think Snow is feeling the heat because he comes on
before Savage on that station, and those listeners want
their liberal-hating red meat.)

9. I'm not a big Snow fan either, but
it sounds like the problem was the caller here, and not him, based on the conversation in the original post. I don't listen to his show myself, so I don't know what the full context was.

11. my guess

I'd venture to say there is a better than 50/50 chance that caller was a "ringer", someone working for the show that "calls in" to spout ridiculous rhetoric in the guise of an actual caller.

7. As cruel as the NAZIS they pattern themselves after
MINUS (for the moment, anyway...lucky us) the overt racism and violence.

But that won't last forever, just until the last Checks and Balances are swept away.

10. I heard a little of Glenn Beck today and thought how does
anyone listen to such a hateful, spiteful, ugly person. He was going on and on about gay marriage and how it will be subversive to America's overall view in the world. Nothing he said made sense and he was saying his arguments are formed from logic? I'd like to know what logic, I just don't get how folks enjoy these hateful messages hour after hour. If anything, talk conservative radio is the most anti-American message out there. It's sickening.

16. Beck is easily the worst of the wingnut lot
a failed rock DJ who couldn't cut in the morning zoo circuit and took his sad attempts at comedy ("oh, those wacky voices he does!") to the hate radio scene

He's more obnoxious than Limbaugh, Hannity, and Coulter combined.

14. Would she like it if I used her same philosophy on her?
It's quite sickening.

I think the world is better off without unfeeling, unthinking creatures like her. The least we can do is tie her tubes, restrict her ability to adopt, and not worry about her spreading her filthy views onto children - which would be the worst form of abuse, apart from molestation. But this is mental molestation, so it is the worst.

Well, how does she feel now?

She wants to call herself a liberal? Fine. I have a spaceship and 16 toes. :eyes: Both of those statements are just as truthful.

In all seriousness, WHY is she a liberal who hates Wellstone? I'll admit his supporting the DOMA was a huge slap against the faces of LGTB people (and is the only thing he did that I didn't like), but by and large he really was a true progressive.

15. the caller definitely was not a liberal but a freeper
she was just answering some sort of question...she was a POS in my view and I agree with everything you said about hoping she doesn't reproduce.

Hate radio..how did the world ever get to this point? Oh, that's right...Bush & Co. in the white house. The world is not a better place since he moved in.
