I know the debate keeps flaring here about whether Kerry should now go at Bush's face about Iraq or remain relatively quiet as he is now doing (that should be an indication to you that the average, basically non-political Democrat is not content in his mind either). Why does this have to be all of one and nothing of the other?? In other words, where are these political advisors and why are they not coming up with a third alternative----there has to be many??
For example, why doesn't Kerry (the vet) align himself with the on the ground soldiers, their kin, and the reserve or active military who are awaiting orders to Nam--excuse me..Iraq?? Why not start pounding the podium and saying that these men and women in Iraq, these families, these reservists, these of active duty elsewhere deserve to know what they are facing. This ain't WWII so we must wait to see what the entire Nazi forces will do in order to respond. This is totally the USA's call. Demand that they play it straight with these folks right now. Hey, Americans in general are getting fed up and with just the right push M/M GI Joe and their family would fall all over someone voicing their concerns and fears. Let Bush slam Kerry for it---the usual base will rally to Bush BUT the military and their families might just very well swarm all over Kerry. Now that's just my suggestion for a third approach---tell me what you might invision where Kerry can "go at Bush" but not do a full frontal assault that Bush is ready for. Damn Kerry really needs to play the chess pieces right now.
