Outburst at NYC 9/11 hearings.
The hearings, with Giuliani, started at 8:30 this morning. During questioning just now, during the discussion of the bravery of those managing the evacuation, many in the audience started screaming and yelling "Ask about the radios" and "Motorola, Motorola", indicating that not all those firefighters who died did so altruistically. Some died because their radios didn't work and they never heard the evacuation order. The protesters were (gently) threatened with eviction from the proceedings, and Giuliani murmured something soothing, but there questions were not taken up. There has been a lot more about who is in charge during an emergency, and not why communications didn't work.

I mean, if MIHOP is true, then maybe they wanted to make some really effective martyrs.

NYPD and FDNY were on different frequencies.

and they didn't have the range to reach upper stories inside a bldg like the WTC
