This all seems to sprout from the eternal mistake of believeing your own press clippings and the facilitation of a lazy/complacent media. We are seeing again today that those that are said to be those for whom all of this has been orchestrated aren't following the script. A brief summary:
The 9/11 families- As some of the families stepped forward to declare "Not in Our Name" opposition to the war on Iraq they were shouted down and told to "shut up" by at least one RW talking head. They were likewise painted as "what is wrong with this country" and weakening the nation's "war on terror" when it was supposed to be due to their loss that this war was needed, at least that was part of the selling point.
Now we see that the 9/11 families are not willing to stand by as the questions they want answered are not asked. On my way back from lunchtime errands I heard B league RW mouthpieces Glenn Beck and Mike Gallagher attacking them for daring to voice their displeasure.
The 9/11 Commission- In the same drive the existance of the commission itself was continually derided and their one time "guy" Lehman (when he was questioning Richard Clarke) is now the target of their attack as he dare question the command and control of the NYPD and NYFD. The fact that he was not questioning the firefighters and policemen themselves was ignored and injected into what he had said.
Jessica Lynch- The all-American girl from Palastine WV was not willing to go along with their spin as she didn't know what really had happened and she stayed faithful to her fellow soldiers. They didn't attack her in one of the rare instances of clarity of the last two+ years.
Michael Berg (father of Nick berg)- The manipulation and politicization of his son's brutal murder in a "Look we aren't as bad as them" (though they were putting us in the same category as alQaeda really) got turned around on them as Mr.Berg directly blame those who are to blame. Glenn Beck (and by extention the RW machine) called him a "scumbag" for daring to not carry their flag.
Sometimes the tail wagging the dog has fleas, I guess.
