Federal Tax Code in court: jury says paying taxes not required
http://www.sierratimes.com/03/08/10/ar_IRS_vs._KUGLIN.htm

A woman just won a case in which the IRS was prosecuting her for tax evasion. Seems as though the Feds could not prove to a jury of 12 that the laws actually stated that we have to pay taxes:

"Forget the war in Iraq, Afghanistan and our excellent adventure in Liberia. Forget about Kobe, Arnold, Arriana, Scott and Laci. The biggest news of the entire week is that on August 8, 2003, the IRS was unable to convince a jury in Memphis, Tennessee that the Federal Tax Code requires the citizens to pay individual income taxes. I kid you not."

1. Well then
I guess that people are going to have to:

arrange their own private mail delivery
arrange their own national defense
not get social security
make their own roads
hire their own police

and so forth.

2. Verdict will be overturn on appeal - lack of letter from IRS saying Please
pay is really not needed - even if the jury thought 15 years of asking the IRS for such a letter was an excuse to not pay.

A Consitutional Amendment was passed to make the income tax legal - she was asking a stupid question - and lucked out and got a stupid jury.

3. I don't think you can appeal a not guilty verdict?

6. This article is trash
It's filled with speculation about what happened at the trial, and the website is highly questionable. It calls the ELF "terrorists", it insults the teacher's union, Bill Clinton, Hillary, etc

7. I never even noticed where the article was from.
I am very suspicious that the article is on the up and up.
