Patricia Cornwell about to be indicted?

I found this posted on a newsgroup. Has anyone else heard of this? Or know any details?

"The FBI has sufficient hard evidence to begin proceedings toward the
felony indictment of famous crime author Patricia Cornwell and others
on charges of perjury, fraud, bribery, threats of murder and other
major crimes, in what will likely be the major celebrity scandal trial
of 2005, as well as one of the worst federal bribery scandals in
history. Documents prove that Patricia Cornwell paid for the hiring of
thugs to threaten illegal jailing, torture and murder against another
book author, and that by federal bribery she was able to buy a fake
"show trial" in the court of US federal judge Robert Payne, a staged
and phony court proceeding where both "sides" of lawyers were on
Cornwell's payroll. This fake proceeding banned the freedom of speech
of another US citizen, who was then threatened with jail and murder to
keep quiet about the farce. Federal Judge Payne faces resignation or
impeachment. Cornwell's victim escaped to Europe and exposed the
scandal, forcing the Dept. of Justice toward action.

For obvious political reasons, given that Cornwell is a big
contributor to President Bush's Republican Party, the Bush-Ashcroft
Justice Dept. seems to be delaying the indictment of Cornwell until
after the election. Cornwell would be an embarrassment to Bush, given
that Cornwell is a drug-abusing lesbian and has had a friend of George

I thought I remembered reading something by her that was critical of the maladministration, actually.

wihtout any reference apart from a Usenet group, assume that such extreme allegations are completely false, perhaps from someone with a grudge against Cornwell, perhaps from a genuine lunatic.

And not just because she has a central character who's a lesbian. On the other hand, given the tone of this "announcement" I would assume it to be a hoax. Calling her a "drug-abusing lesbian" is just a little over the top. And just how are they so intimate with her that they know that she is in "mental torment about being a lesbian?"

Odd.

Good thing I read hand-me-downs! I've not contributed one dime to repukes through Cornwell. :D

I always enjoyed her books, but I will finish the one about Jack the Ripper I am reading now and not buy another....

It looks like it all comes from a man named Dr. Sachs (the alleged victim) who has a whole web-page devoted to how he was screwed by the Bush administration and Cornwell. Hmmm. Maybe just a nutter after all, but who knows?

"buying" a federal judge and a "show trial" complete with attorneys for both sides? That's just a little much.

However, Cornwell has been in the gossipy news before. I don't remember all the details, but wasn't it rumored that she broke up the marriage of the FBI agent husband and wife who were her research sources for lots of her books? Law & Order did an episode loosely based on the scandal.

Maybe involving an FBI agent's wife or something like that? It's been years though I may be wrong.

In the 1993 VA governor's race, she had supported Terry and then suddenly announced her support for George Allen in a televised press conference. She denounced Terry as just another deceitful politician etc., and it had the creepy flavor of unrequited love or revenge for a breakup. It got lots of play and really hurt Terry's chances.

And she is a complete disciple of Billy Graham's (authored an early bio on his wife, Ruth, and works him into her novels in the oddest way.
