David Gregory, NBC "Nobody buys it's up to the Iraqi people*
in press conference with Scotty, in question about whether Chalabi is still considered part of the CPA by Bush. He is one of my favorite reporters.

4. *You dodged that. The president is not going to weigh in
on whether or not his credibility is... ? (couldn't catch word, scotty talking over with bs).. there's no opinion on this man that this administration has hitched its wagon to. "

Uh, nope... Scotty says Prezzie has NO opinion on Chalabi, will let the Iraqis decide, except that David CALLED HIM ON IT!!!!

5. the really sad thing is that it should be up to the Iraqi people. . .
Edited on Thu May-20-04 01:26 PM by stellanoir
but this administration is filled with nothing but manipulative, deceitful control freaks who MUST MAINTAIN a stranglehold on Iraq's oil.

This stuff today about Chalabi has been a long time coming. Not only was he blackmailing Iraqi's intelligencia with Saddam's intelligence files, but he was blackmailing us to the tune of somewhere between $300,000 to $400,000 per month. There has to be some real dirt on Rummy, Cheney and the * clan in those files.

Will this stuff ever really get exposed. . .?

8. Done. Here's my email:
Dear David -

Thank you SO much for restoring my faith, at least a little. I DEEPLY appreciate the way you held Scott McClellan's feet to the fire about the Chalabi disaster in Iraq. I have heard and seen (and suspected) that many in the media, both print and broadcast, have been intimidated by the White House, and know better than to "make any trouble," "stir things up," "or question Our Leader and his painfully obvious and increasingly frightening incompetence. I am MOST gratified to see that you are not among them.

We are in the shape we're in now because the public is HORRENDOUSLY ill-informed - by an EXTREMELY cowed media. Our media right now is mostly lapdog, not watchdog. How else would you explain the fact that a majority of Americans still clings to the ridiculous and thoroughly debunked idea that Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11? PLEASE DON'T BUY INTO IT! PLEASE KEEP TELLING THE TRUTH!! Tim Russert, Wolf Blitzer, Judy Woodruff, Candy Crowley, Lisa Myers, Larry King, and EVERYONE on the Fox "news" network is guilty of aiding and abetting the lies and misrepresentations. Our sons and daughters are being needlessly killed and maimed in Iraq because of this. The truth itself has met a similar fate. Our country's reputation around the world is in tatters. Our word means nothing. And we're NO safer. All because of this.

I hope the rest of your colleagues at least entertain the notion of beginning to wake up. I'm glad you already have. Thank you again.
