I Smell a Golden Opportunity for Kerry----come on, Big John!!!
One of the major news items today is the infighting that has broken out within the Republican Party (there is a god..), and it reminded me (duh) that we have more than a presidential campaign brewing----we have Congressional seats to win. I smell the perfect background for Kerry to "introduce a new line" (sorry to steal your line, Andy Card).

Kerry should remind the American people (don't assume they know) that the US Senate and House of Representatives has been in the majority controling hands of the Republicans; therefore, they are working in lockstep with Bush in blatantly ignoring the crisis buiding within middle class America and in waging economic warfare against average, middle class Americans. In other words, Kerry should remind them that if their concerns are ever to be addressed before it's too late, they need to do more than remove Bush---they need to remove any and all Republicans from Congress!!! And there is another super benefit from Kerry launching such a strategy.......

This is a way to unmercifully shred Bush without going directly at him and risking the propaganda crap of "attacking our noble leader in time of war". It's a broad based attack on anything that looks like a repuke, walks like a repuke and smells like a repuke. This isn't anything new. The repukes have been painting the Dems with a broad brush for years and have been successful. Kerry could attack this whole unholy batch of bastards as an "undesireable" element to be removed right now while they are down. It's time to broaden this campaign to make it a "geeeeehaaad" against all living, breathing republicans.

1. I agree, Kerry and Dems need to nationalize the whole campaign
The Repugs had there chance and they blew it. Time to give the Dems a chance to govern.

Kerry should say, elect me along with a Democratic Congress and we will deliver: ( insert list of 3 or 4 top priorities.)

2. too early ...
Right now, reality and the universe are putting the lie to Bushie's blustering, incoherent boiler-plate and he is sinking like a rock without any help from John Kerry. The election is almost 6 months away and Kerry is riding high in the polls DESPITE a $70 mil smear campaign from the gops.

He should stay out of the way as long as this is playing out to his advantage.

4. Pepperbelly, that's just my point
Stay out of the way of the "direct" mudslinging at Bush--'cause the media is just waiting to de-ball him on it. BUT right now the goddamn repukes are imploding and infighting. The McCain attacks might make the ultra right happy; it has to sicken the moderates and those of Nam era who know what this guy went through. For this particular attack I propose, October is too late. The ground is fertile right now. In other words, take all these things piling up at Bush's feet and tell the Americans that the whole goddamn rotten bunch are nothing but fuck ups and enemies of middle class Americans.

6. Perhaps a more effective tactic would be to ...
bring out our new line :D at the convention. Late July. With the media in attendence.

For free.

11. yeah---I can wait that long....................
but I think a few barbs right now would also bring the press to him..........they sure focused on Nancy Pelosi today. They seem to be liking criticisms of Bush being incompetent ('cause they go with the polls). That's when I thought: hmmm, Kerry could expand this to the whole rotten lot and they would cover his remarks. Then he could set the stage for railing against them in his convention speech.

8. Democrats should sit back and let the Republicans self destruct
The finger pointing is just beginning. Better to let them take each other down and then the Democrats can a completely new and positive agenda for this country.

7. rhino--BINGO---that's what I meant by "don't assume they know"
Fox and Limbaugh and like anmials don't remind the people that the repukes are in TOTAL charge....they want people to think that all the shit in America is due to those "goddamn Democrats, again". You cannot believe how many Americans have no idea how many Senators each state has much less who is running Congress and why that means whose agenda gets passed. These people are so goddamn dumb that I'm surpised they can even figure out where and how to vote. That's why Kerry and the Dems have to first understand that on the average they are talking to people who have not much in the way of an IQ and who operate at a teen level (sorry, but that is what America in so many ways has become and it has nothing to do with 'educational level') Unfortunately, the repukes know this and manipulate accordingly.....we have never figured it out. The Dem who does (and Clinton was one of them) is the Dem who can make them adore him.

9. Yep
If anyone's ever wondered what their world would be like under pure unimpeded Republican governance, they've just lived it. It would be dumb to not point that out.

12. Listen up, JFK II and staff
Babs has got the right idea. Winning the Presidency will not be worth much without the House and/or Senate to go with it. Face it, we have lost the Courts to the radical right wing for many years to come. They will continue to be dangerously reactionary.

Go for the whole enchilada - Pres, House and Senate.

13. you are right. when they took over Senate again in 2002...twas said
that the onus was now on them because they couldn't blame Dems. Well, looks like they will try to wriggle off that hook by saying they couldn't overcome supermajorities on some issues....

but for the most part I think they should hit and hit and hit on how horrible the present is..how bad our recent past has been and what our deplorable outlook is with endless war, endless deficits, and culture wars started by GOP.

I AGREEEE
