recently heard from an old college friend who, last I knew, was heavily involved in Republican politics in his state, and had been for many years . . . the e-mail opened with him calling himself "a recovering Republican" and bemoaning the takeover of the party by the nutcases . . . he'll be voting with us in November . . .

the last couple of elections (locally and nationally). Well, we were talking the other day and she was telling me how it hurt her heart to see homeless people and whenever she sees a homeless person she always give them money. I said, "Guess what? That makes YOU a LIBERAL!" She complained that she never had money because she always gave it away to those in need. Liberal! In all seriousness, I told her it was her heart that made her a liberal, not her money. She said she knew and she said she could not in good conscious vote for Bu$h.

I don't know if I converted her or this was a process she had been contemplating for some time. Either way, she is voting dem this year and I told her how proud I was of her. She was doing the right thing.

is a closet liberal, she would feel better about herself, if she would just come out of that closet. My dad came out during Ronnie's first presidency. We, his adult children, had been laughing at him for months, pointing out the similarities between his thoughts and actions and those of the liberal persuaision.

OneBlueSky! I hope you are right - I too believe the tide is turning, especially with those that have children. Do you want your 8 year old to be watching television with all of this X-rated stuff on, not to mention a beheading, etc.?
