1. Easy - I would be livid if
he selected McCain. So livid I'd probably vote for Nader.

I would be "happy" with Wes Clark or John Edwards only.

3. Agreed! McCain & Nader are not Democrats
And Clark & Edwards are Democrats, and will be more supportive of the democratic party. AND the latter would also be fine as second-in-line. And they can only enhance the electability of Kerry. Any further questions?

7. I agree.
I'm sure we have quite a few perfectly good Dems. If he were to go outside the party, that would be like saying no one in the party was good enough.

6. Good God Almighty!! Are we going to start yet ANOTHER...
...of these idiotic "Kerry-McCain" and/or "Kerry-Nader" threads???

For the last frickin' time, KERRY'S NOT GOING TO CHOOSE A REPUBLICAN AS HIS RUNNING MATE, AND HE SURE AS HECK IS NOT GOING TO CHOOSE NADER, THAT "SHADOW REPUBLICAN"!!!!

8. McCain
I'd rather have Edwards on the ticket (or any other Dem), but if I had to choose between Nader and McCain, I'd choose McCain. Basically because I want to win. Nader would give the ticket maybe 5 extra points, if that. McCain would give the ticket a 100% guaranteed landslide. A Kerry/McCain ticket would not lose.

9. Neither - Smart money is on Bill Richardson
Its all about Electoral Math. Gore carried New Mexico by on 400 votes in 2000. It is up for grabs. Richardson on the ticket would put NM in the strong blue catagory, and take Arizona and possibly Nevada from Red states to "to close to call".

Also, I believe the growing Latino voters in Florida would be more likely to back a ticket with Richardson, moving another "to close to call" state towards the blue.

Its really all about the math. The polling suggests that Edwards may not even deliver his own state on the ticket. I would rather have Edwards be President than Richardson, primarily because of Richard's position on NAFTA. However, if Richardson can secure AZ, NM and CA, and shift the power in FL, its tough to pass on him.

I'm also a big fan of adequate racial representation. I believe the party that will do the most to protect the historical culture of the average Latino-American is the Dems. Having a Latino candidate should aid in getting the Democratic message to Latino American communities, and serve to involve more of this portion of the population in the political process.
