maybe it really IS the end of the world
it sure is starting to feel like it. prophecy must be hastened!
armageddon awaits! the rapture is approaching, stay outside! the end times are upon us! repent muslim heathens, rejoice righteous christians!

who has the power to destroy the whole fucking world? george w. bush.

who has the inclination to destroy the whole fucking world? same man.

at first i thought it was just about oil and greed and imperialism.
it's much much worse than that, it's the endtimers in the white house, raping christ's name and message. now i realize the true horror of the bush agenda. the end of times. a new beginning for the world. a christian world with mc donald's on every corner of the globe. no more godless muslims, only jews and christians.

even fucking hitler wasnt' this crazy.

26. No Joke!
Even the Pope has gone on record stating that Bu$h*t may be the third coming of the anti-Christ.
I recall an excerpt from the Bob Woodward interview on 60-minutes. Woodward stated that he was walking with the Commander & Chimp in the Rose Garden when he asked Bu$h*t- What do you think history will say about your presidency? The reply, according to Woodward was, Bush through his arms into the air and shrugged stating, "what does it matter, we will all be dead!"
Could that be demonic prophecy?

every tongue confess...

i always figured this was the massive loophole in the bible letting everyone into heaven:)

i was raised in a fundamentalist christian family and although i haven't been involved in a church in years, i still think about biblical ties to the things happening in the world today. i was reading another thread on DU about mad cow disease and how it is suspected that many have it and don't know it yet. my first thought was that this could be a pestilence of biblical proportions.

i prefer the passages in matthew that describe the signs of the end... hmmm... 24:12? am i remembering this correctly?

21. I agree that everyone who doesn't know about CRs should GOOGLE it, BUT
they are NOT the ones who believe in the Rapture, etc. In fact, they are rabidly against that interpretation. "Millenianists" are the ones who go for all that - that they'll get raptured before all the bad stuff.

The CR's (a/k/a Dominionists) are "a-millenial" - i.e., they believe it's their duty to set up a theocracy BEFORE the end of the world. They want to be around to enjoy their power.

I may have gotten my terms mixed up, but I'm sure about the CRs not buying into those beliefs.

BTW, there ARE some "Christians" who believe in establishing a theocracy ASAP before they get raptured - and I'm sure they want to stick around to enjoy it, too. The most famous figure with that great loony combination is none other than Pat Robertson.

I don't know which group is scarier, but I feel strongly that both are FAR from what Jesus intended or would have approved.

13. The Christian Prayer is for the End of the World
The only question is how.

For so long now we've "Trusted in God"--but just in case, we had 'the bomb'. Through what does the 'Will of God' manifest if not us?

/sarcasm

Of COURSE it is the OIL; but don't let that deceive you: A NEW WORLD REQUIRES A NEW MYTHOS. Imagine some generations in the future, after the global population has been reduced to a fraction of what it is today, imagine their EXPLANATION for what happened. They'll have to have some "explanation" that will allow them to feel okay about themselves, right? See where I'm going with this?

15. I am almost to the point where I say Good
Humans have destroyed every good thing on the planet and continue to do so as quickly as possible. If the planet is to continue a majority of humans will have to go. Now is as good a time as any. I have seen much in my time on this earth and it wouldn't surprise me if Armageddon wasn't also in the cards for me. I don't fear death, what I fear is the horrible things mankind will have to endure if the Republicans get their way and continue destroying nature as they are.

24. Rebuilding the Temple is the hard part, at the moment.
Since that pesky "evil-doer" Mohammed built the Dome of the Rock right where it's supposed to be.

The spotless red calf may already exist though

...who, exactly, will be left to eat at McDonalds?

(I guess that's one of the positive things about the end of the world. It pays to look on the bright side!!)

EDIT: And David Zephyr, those "re-training camps" actually sound fabulous. Imagine the fun we'll be having, redecorating and dishing about the horrible fashion sense of our fundy wardens. See you there! ;-)
