AOL new Welcome! screen is stupid
After 8 years as an AOL customer, I called them back in December to cancel my account. They lowered my monthly fee to $9.95 and I decided to stay, even though I hate their news section, which is very anti Kerry. Their polls always show conservatives winning, the scums make a majority of AOL customers.

Now they've just changed their Welcome! screen and it's horrible, I can't find anything anymore.

I wanted to share this with you all, make sure you call AOL and threaten them with leaving, maybe they will lower your fee too. Those right-wing low-lives already make too much f*cking money.

2. AOL was good in the beginning when everyone was getting
on the internet in the early 90's. They have sucked ever since!

3. AOL is a joke.

It's a massive con, and a horrible service. Why they are still in business is beyond me...oh yeah, thats right...they use predatory billing.

4. I'm an AOL customer, but in my opinion, they are not anti-Kerry

In fact, people on the AOL message boards are always complaining that AOL is too left wing.

6. Are you high?
The headline this morning read: Did Pelosi Go Too Far? (in reference to her Bush comments). No one else is making a big deal out of it besides AOL.

Oh, and it's not atypical to see right wingers bitching that EVERYTHING has a liberal bias, even though that's proveably not the case.

10. exactly
and the picture they posted of Pelosi! She looks like the Wicked Witch of The East, I mean, West. AOL is rabidly conservative.

5. Word to the wise: If (when) you DO cancel...
...get a confirmation number, keep it in a safe place, and keep a weather eye on your credit card bill. They will continue to charge your credit card until you call them on it. Then they will claim that they thought you did not really mean to cancel. You will need that number, and the date you cancelled.

Speaking from personal experience. Glad I got out of that craphole.

7. Your correct, and that is out and out FRAUD...
Yet the billionaires boys club owning AOHELL is never called on the carpet about that practice. That shit has gone on for YEARS not just recently. I joined up for a 60 day introductory thing way back in 1997. I wanted to see if they had any flightsim forums or library's that were worth a damn,I was already a subscriber to CServe. They didn't,the entire place sucked and so I canceled. Of course they went ahead and charged my CC the next month after clearly canceling on the phone with a AOL rep.

I called and bitched, screamed and threatened and of course they play the "dumb act" real well. They will credit your card back but its fraudulent that they do it in the first place.

11. Don't be nice to them when you cancel either
They have been trained to drag the conversation out, manipulate , wheedle, beg, you name it. My husband was so happy that one of his main clients got rid of AOL, so he could get rid of it too, but when he called up, the guy kept him on the phone and wouldn't take no for an answer.

Then I saw online that they have been doing this to everyone and that one of the State Attorney Generals is getting together a class action suit on this fraudulent behavior.

9. One person posted on the AOL message board
and said, "AOL sucks." Well, I posted and told him that if he was so unhappy that he should find another ISP. The idiot e-mailed me and said, "Typical liberal response." I replied and asked, "Why are you still on AOL if you think it sucks?" He never answered.
