Clancy Writing a Book W/ Zinni!!! (SLAMMING the Admin!)
"In his upcoming book, Battle Ready, written with Tom Clancy, Zinni writes of the poor planning in harsh terms. "In the lead-up to the Iraq war and its later conduct, I saw, at minimum, true dereliction, negligence and irresponsibility; at worse, lying, incompetence and corruption," he writes. Zinni explains to Kroft, "I think there was dereliction in insufficient forces being put on the ground and fully understanding the military dimensions of the plan.""

1. Zinni is a powerful voice that drips competence

even if he looks like that guy from the Russ Meyer films and Rambo - Charles Napier.

Anyway, interesting seeing Clancy sour - I recall being sickened by him in the days post 9/11, opining up a windbag's buffet of bullshit.

2. When Clancy turns on BushInc then you KNOW most of the military brass
is turned against Bush, too.

8. UNREAL!
I thought Woodward was the metaphorical nail in the coffin. This is the definitive nail in the coffin.

Clancy carries a lot of weight in the Hawk camp.

9. Heh...Clancy is like Matthew, Mark, Luke AND John to the military.
Bush CANNOT survive this without their support and the millions of family members they bring with them.

I think Bush has completely lost even the white male voter this year. Once they realize the firemen, the cops, AND the military votes are going to Kerry the light bulbs are going to finally light up.

6. Clancy is a right-wing lapdog
At least in his last couple of books.

He used to be half-ways readable.

If he switches sides, he'll just switch back later when it's convenient. He's lost all credibility.

10. I wonder if he'll go as far as le Carre did in "Absolute Friends"?
That would be something.
