Bush can't handle domestic problems because he's fighting a war on terror.
I was only half listening to a segment of "You Decide 2004", when I hear Leslie Marshall speaking and paraphrasing someone else's thoughts on Bush. She was saying, "He said Bush needs to do 'this' and Bush should do 'that'." (Like I said I wasn't paying too much attention at that point.

My ears perked up when she said this guy says Bush needs to, "quit lying."

The republican speaker, Martha Zoeller, said, "Oh, come on. We can not be expected to handle all these domestic problems while we're fighting the war on terror."

Well, how do you like that? He is the friggin' president. Is there some clause in government that says if a president is fighting a war on terrorism he doesn't need to pay attention to any domestic issues? I don't think so. And let me tell you, if I didn't cover 100% of MY responsibilities at work, I'd be fired, regardless.

6. strange, isn't it

How folks like FDR could win much bigger wars and get their domestic agenda done at the same time. Dopey McFuhrer on the other hand gets everything good handed to him on a platter and muffs every bit of the job, much like his Daddie and Alzheimer Man before him.

Personally, I'd like Dubya to actually deliver something, however small, in return for all the corporate welfare and the Affirmative Action Presidency we've given him. $200 billion to get the man Poppie couldn't and a temporal lobe epileptic doing the televangelist hustle is pretty expensive as bad entertainment goes.

7. FDR had the Depression AND WW2
LBJ actually did a good job, if I recall, on the home front while screwing up in Vietnam.

Nixon had Vietnam & the Oil Embargo...

Truman had Korea and the Marshall Plan...

I'm sure Woodrow Wilson had something going on at home as well.
