6. Well I bet the real rich are up-tight.
The ones we usually do not talk about. They do not like things to be in a mess and Bush has sure made a mess.

OK, Perot gave on 07/09/03 to George W. Bush's campaign.

What is the difference between donating in July and donating yesterday?

7. not a chance... remember Bush Sr, Dole? Both were obviously going
DOWN, but "pride goeth before the (down)fall...."

Besides, we wouldn't want them to front another candidate. If Bush/Cheney go down in a landslide (as I certainly pray that they will), then Jebbie won't be likely to ever get a second look either!

Sort of like cutting the "head" off the snake at both ends (just to be sure....)

10. i totally agree we want bush to be the nominee....
... for the same reason i'm pretty much ok with rummy not being canned.... tho there there's an issue of getting our troops killed....

was just wondering - what would be a smart move for the repubs at this point?

13. I have to say the PUGs need the sympathy vote to gain traction now...
A major tragic incident involving senior administration officials or Bush himself (God, forbid) that could be blamed on "terrorists," would be the one sure thing to get the "soft vote," back in their camp. I can only pray they are not evil enough to consider this (or "fortuitous" to have it happen at the hands of others).

8. if bush died in a tragic plane crash,
then the republicans would be free to nominate another.

In that case, I wouldn't blame Paul Wellstone for looking down from heaven and rolling his eyes a bit.

9. Not at all. They NEED their own answer to Clinton...
...and pathetically, ever since G-Dub showed high poll numbers during '99, they thought he'd be the answer for our modern-day Clinton.

Doesn't anybody see this?

Just like Reagan is supposed to be their counter to FDR (how else would you describe the hype and exaggeration behind thier version of Reagan's term?), Bush is supposed to be the R's version of Clinton.

17. No.
The Repubs say he's a great president. Why in the world would they want someone else?

18. same reason that the 2000 Bush campaign claimed that Bush was . . .
against nation-building

environmentally friendly

silent on the issues of tax cuts for the rich

etc, etc

If they can't trick us anymore with the old puppet, then they may want to find a new puppet who can trick voters on a going-fwd basis.
