Poll question: Favorite Democratic Senator
I tried to narrow the listings to those Senators whom are often praised at DU.

1. Feingold
He's the only one with the balls and/or ovaries to vote against the Traitor Act.

9. Mark Dayton (D-Mn)

Has never wavered in opposition of shrub's policies. One of the 3 Senators who voted against Negroponte's nomination, Doesn't waist time with speeches when he only has 6 fucking minutes to question an administration thug..

11. It's really disturbing how obsessed people are with being anti-war
Edited on Sun May-23-04 12:10 AM by Bombtrack
Or what they percieve to be that rigid definition of anti-war

so much so that they'd chose a wierd half-senile former Klansmen as their favorite senator because he throws more anti-war red meat than almost if not anyone.

Don't get me wrong, he's a better senator than whoever the WV GOP is ever going to put up or the GOP in any state for senate, but the favorite out of 100?

15. I'm partial to my local guy, Ron Wyden.
He's been on the gas price nonsense from the start.
(It helps that I met him once accidentally in my local
grocery store. He was very nice to me.)

16. Voted "other" for the senior NY Senator: Chuck Schumer
Hillary is great, too, but Chuck was here first. They are a great team.

But if I had to go beyond NY, I would vote for Byrd.

22. I really like Schumer as well. He'd be in my top 5 probably
I've probably got to go with Ted Kennedy. He's been my family's senator for over 40 years and mine since I was born.

19. Dick Durbin---Illinois !!!
Although all Senators listed are great lawmakers, Illinois has a great one in Dick Durbin.
We also have a great future Senator waiting in the wings.
Barak Obama will win the November election.
This guy will prove to be one of the all-time greats.

21. Russ Feingold
hands down!!!

He always sticks to his convictions.

He is not your typical POL...he is not in the clutches of special interests, he speaks the truth, & takes the risks.
