Edited on Sun May-23-04 05:42 PM by bigwavebobby
So if President Kerry dies, we end up with a Repuke president?

Please someone tell me that this isn't even on the radar!

Is this just a rumor being floated by right wingers who are attempting to divide us?

8. If we don't talk about it,
Will it go away and not be a possibility?

I want to hear a clear NO from Kerry!

13. It isn't a possibility.
It better not be.

I don't even want to THINK of the trust damage Kerry would incur with this.

We'll be picking up plenty of Republican votes without McCain.

Now, how about a VP who could convince me that jobs and health care are important?

6. Welcome to DU Bobby!
This has been discussed to death here with a lot of impassioned opinions flying about. The rumor has not been floated by right wingers, it's being floated by Democrats.

I don't think most people take it seriously. It will never happen, but the discussion itself is hurtful to Bush and helpful to Kerry (in my opinion).

11. You are wrong! The discussion helps Bush!
It implies that we don't have anyone else better for VP.

I'm livid!

15. very well said.
every time someone creates a McCain thread, we could instead be talking about edwards, dean, Clark, or any number of true VP choices.

18. Not true.
The discussion exposes the fractures in Bush's party and drives Karl Rove crazy. Rove would rather be digging up dirt and slinging mud at the people Kerry is actually considering. Giving them nothing but McCain to talk about thoroughly confounds them. They won't lay a glove on McCain, so they have to just sit there and look impotent.

I don't advocate McCain for VP, I just don't understand why the blah blah blah about it so offensive to people.

20. So...You're saying that we can't win...
With our principles and ideas? We need a Republican to beat Bush?

Rove will have a fucking field day with this one!!!!!!!

22. Maybe one of these times you will actually read what I'm saying
and not put words in my mouth.

I do NOT advocate John McCain for VP.
I do NOT recommend John McCain for VP.
I do NOT want John McCain for VP.

and most importantly

John Kerry will NOT choose John McCain for VP.

Sheesh, how many times does this have to be said?

All I'm saying is that the reason why Democrats are talking about it at all is strategic, not because they think we need a Republican on the ticket. It's screwing with Republican strategists heads. Drawing attention to the rifts in the Republican party. Positioning Kerry as a candidate that both Republicans and Democrats should consider voting for.

McCain is NOT seriously being considered. If he is, I'll eat my hat.

17. No! It Freaks Out Karl Rove!
If McCain turns on them, they are even toastier toast than the toast they are now!

That Kerry doesn't deny it and that McCain giggles like a school girl when Tweety brings it up makes them KRAZY!

I saw all the pundits on Chris Matthews Show Today say that a Kerry-McCain ticket would be guarenteed defeat for Bush. How do you think that makes Karen Hughes feel?!?!?!?

(PS I don't think it will happen, I just think it is part of the game to FREAK THEM OUT)

There are alot of good Democrats out there.

Besides, McCain is out there stumping for Bush, so why should Kerry even think of him for a position in his cabinet.
