Bad Knee so can't jog, but can ride a bike???
If Bu$h has a bad knee that has forced him to cut back or eliminate his jogging, how in the hell can he ride a bike other than a recumbent bike? Maybe he fell off one of those? Seriously, riding a regular bike is hell on my knees, maybe it's just me. What do you think?

1. and how come no pics?
Why no pictures of Bush and his bike?

Lord knows we have millions of photos of him in every other possible scenario.

2. Low impact
I hurt my knee once playing basketball. I could use the cross-trainer and bike at the gym because they didn't require the pounding that you get with jogging or running. My foot never left the pedals and that limited the damage and pain.

Just my two cents.

3. Biking is so much easier on the knees than jogging.
No impact on he ground. Just that circular movement. Climbing hills can be tuff but I can bike for miles and miles with no problem, but jogging for a 1 or two will break my left knee in half.

4. Swimming would be better
incredibly low impact on the knees. However, I am sure the idiot would figure out a way to drown in a 4 ft lap pool. Should drink and swim, ya know.

5. As a running coach
we used to throw people with sore knees on the bike all the time. You just have to make sure your seat is adjusted to the proper hight.

8. Your seat is likely too low.
Seek the council of a professional ... or any good bike book.

9. Biking OK for knees...
Edited on Sun May-23-04 08:27 PM by Xandor
Both of my knees have been rebuilt because of ruptured ligaments (4 of 'em). Cycling has been a big part of my physical therapy regime. If you have knee pain in front, your saddle is probably too low. If there's pain in the back of your knees, your saddle might be too high. There is a risk of degenerative knee problems and even worse pain (chondromalacia) if you continue to ride hard without correcting whatever problem is going on.
