the VP is a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Hence...anyone who claims that having McCain be in that position would be a good thing is, in my opinion, a fool. I don't care if it divides the repub ranks- suppose that kerry dies and they end up getting a republican president yet again?

I am so glad someone brought this fact up.

Those of us who are old enough to remember 1963 know only too well that the presidency can change in an instant. It can and did happen and given the nasty climate we live in, it is not an outlandish thought.

If the arguement is posed that way. I'd give my left nut to have McCain than any other republican Legislator in the country, and maybe behind just a few governers. He is head and shoulders more qualified than Bush and the ass clown cheney. Im a DEM, but lets face it, he's got charisma.
