Tonight is going to be a bad night for W
Tonight W has to give one of the most important speeches of his life. His ratings are all time lows and dropping fast. Iraq is a total failure. The war on terra is a farce and now Americans are getting pissed because they are paying for Bu$h's Blunders at the gas pump.

Usually, Karl and Karen have at least a week to get W ready for a major speech. But not they can no longer control events and Bu$h has to get up in front of the American people, now. Unfortunately, the first twins had their graduations this weekend and with the whole country watching, W had to put on a show, flying back and forth to graduation parties and entertaining friends and family in between.

Karl and Karen must have been pulling their hair out. There was little time to prepare W for the big speech. Then, the icing on the cake, W takes a big fall flat on his face. Karl and Karen must be frantic right now. Karl's calling the networks to get them to make excuses why they won't broadcast the speech live. And Karen is calling her Avon rep to get more pancake to cover up W's bruises.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
All the King's horses
And all the King's men
Couldn't put Humpty Dumpty
Back together again.

Bye-bye W, it's over. You're done.

5. Faux News Channel
If Bush* gave a speech that only comprised of the word "booby" and repeated it over and over 49 times in succession, whilst wearing nothing but a black trash bag; Faux News pundits would say: "The President gave an inspirational, stead-fast and visionary speech."

WE cannot afford to misunderestimate this cabal and the lengths to which they will go to insure their future success and continued strangle hold over power.

Take a look at Texas. He faced similar accusations of lies, deceit, fraud by underlings, and worse. His promises about reforming capital punishment resulted in MORE deaths, of several probably innocent of the crime. His so-called education revamping actually cut spending in the poorest areas. The list is endlesss.

Here is a failed bizniz man who has been saved by several financial guardian angels, all with the plan that he would turn around and help them when the time came. That time is now. his personal history is one filled with failure, incompetence and worse.

Yet he succeeded in fooling all of the people all of the time, and now he can take it out on the whole country. we can't afford to count our pennies before the fat lady sings.

8. So true.
I get a little nervous when I see people here crowing over the assumed election of Kerry. And yes, we can all report talking to people who voted for W in 2000 but who will not vote for him again. And there seems to be no one out there who voted for Gore or Nader in 2000 who will now vote for W.

But the election is more than five months away, and a lot can happen between now and then. And even if Kerry does win in a landslide in which enough votes are counted fairly to put him in office, getting the House and Senate back is also crucial. If we have a Republican Congress, a President Kerry will be far less effective than he needs to be to start turning this country around.

18. Agreed petunia - and welcome to DU
We can't underestimate him. Reading from a teleprompter is usually a lot better than his disastrous press conferences or his 1 on 1 with Tim Russert.

Underestimating Bush got us in trouble in 2000. We tend to look at things from the DU perspective here when some should try to look at a W speech from a middle-of-the-road perspective, as well as a RepubliCON perspective. It may very well be that Bush will try to 'shore up his base' tonight by invoking God, Jesus and freedom for brown-skinned peoples.

of the battered face of Bush on prime time TV. It can't get any better than this!

Good bye and good riddance.

16. The hell.
They'll slather him with pancake makeup to hide the cuts and scrapes.

They'll work furiously through the night to polish up the script he'll deliver.

They'll load him up with Ambien and shove him out the door.

And he'll read the script.

Can't talk, but can read.

19. "The War President"
He is giving the best and most important speech of his life and he is giving it at The War College, Caryle, Pa., to a selected audience and none of the major TV media is covering it?????

This all sounds like Cheney's energy meetings, the secret Pentagon meetings, and all the other secret's this Bush cabal is doing behind closed doors. Immediately after, all the media-whores will expound on the wonders of Bush and his speaking capabilities. Ain't we been down this road before????

20. It's the messed up face, stupid.
We can't have our fearless leader look like a clumsy buffoon while delivering a major speech, now can we?

So pitiful...and yet we all have to suffer his excesses.

Edited on Mon May-24-04 10:35 AM by Cat Atomic
People will ask themeselves how he got those things.

When they find out their great leader has been out playing on his bike while everything is in a shambles... well... it sort of reinforces the President Cheney image. It makes him seem disconnected and uncaring, too. If I had a son over in Iraq, I'd be pissed off to hear about Bush's play time.
