When Drudge can't verify scoops, he waits until RW news source quotes him!

If you dare.

Funny that for the past two days, Drudge has been pumping some story to the effect that Kerry made a snide remark about Bush's bike accident. No link provided the past two days.

And now... a link! Wiht the headline "Kerry pokes fun at Bush mishap..."

http://washingtontimes.com/national/20040523-112924-2653r.htm

First off, pretty humorous that the only one he could get was the one from the Loonie Moonie Times. But wait...it gets better:

Democrat John Kerry joked about President Bush's weekend bicycle accident by comparing the president to a child, Internet newshound Matt Drudge reported yesterday.

"Kerry told reporters in front of cameras, 'Did the training wheels fall off?' " Mr. Drudge reported on his Web site, www.drudgereport.com.

Interviewed by The Washington Times yesterday, Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter would say only that the words Mr. Drudge reported were "off the record."

Drudge's source for a story is one quoting HIM!?!?!?!?! Well, there goes credibility out the window.

And if Kerry indeed said that (whick I thought was hilarious and well-deserved), I'm pretty sure other news sources would be noting it. Nothing sells like a little controversy.

Anybody else think once again that Drudge is full of shit?

2. Have you noticed that on the weekend...
Drudge slows down a lot and let's the web site ride with what is there?

There has seemingly been a consistent pattern to this, in my opinion, anyway. Slow news weekend? Drudge vacationing at Disneyworld? Crawford? Who knows.

This past weekend site stayed pretty much the same for the longest time since I've been observing it.

3. I think Kerry's comment related to the bush* meeting with the repubs
at which he stated that the Iraqi's were going to 'take of the training wheels' and begin to peddle their own democracy (or something to that effect)

Which makes the Kerry quote very very very funny indeed and very quick witted!

4. To understand Drudge google...
Walter Winchell. Walt is his hero. Matt has not nearly Winchell's power but he is headed there.
There seems to be thinking here that once there was a halcyon time when there was an honest media. It never happened. The media was never fair to Democrats. The media changes but this nonsense of the corporate media strangle hold is just not true.

But then dumb people watch cable "news" and whine about its product.
Together all these outlets have about 1 million viewers combined at any time.

The broadcast TV news has about 20 million viewers average each day combined.
60 min. with the Clarke had 12.9 million viewers.

Cable tv is like watching paint dry under a bull, when the bull shits its news.
