Fahrenheit 9-11 is going to be huge
Assuming that it will get a pre-election summer release date, Farenheit 9-11 will in my opinion play a seminal role in ousting Bush in November. I've heard so many great things about this film and the fact that it won top prize at Cannes is a testament to its greatness.

I eagerly look forward to its release.

1. And it doesn't matter if folks like us....
...are the only ones who go to see it.

It will be clipped and quoted in the press like crazy.

2. Likewise for me....
...It will be interesting to see what measures BushCO, neo-cons and the Christian RW will go to block screenings of this film anywhere in the U.S. The more they invest in blocking the film, the more crowds and audiences it will attract. I hope it is released in the U.S. by August 1st.

That is still up in the air.

4. Remember ...

No movie will have more pressure to not release since "Citizen Cane". The media powers that be will do everything they can to kill it or minimalize it. I wouldn't be surprised if more than one theatre chain refuses to show it.

The key will be getting an early theatrical release. Then we need a DVD release BEFORE the election. That will give us LOT's of time to pass copies around to voters "on the fence". Of course, we can look forward to bootleg copies off of various P2P services.

8. According to his newsletter...
"I am still hoping for a July release (4th of July weekend?) both in the U.S. and around the world.

I fully expect the right wing and the Republican Party to come at me and this film with everything they’ve got. They will try, as they have unsuccessfully in the past, to attack me personally because they cannot win the debate on the issues the film raises—namely, that they are a pack of liars and the American people are on to them. And, if the early screenings of “Fahrenheit 9/11” are any indication, those who see this movie will never view the Bush administration in the same way again. Even if you already can’t stomach George W. Bush & Co., I think this movie will take you to places you haven’t gone before, with laughter and with tears.

BTW have you noticed his site is down right now? hmmmmm:tinfoilhat:

...they can't use the "it's only the French that voted for him" crap.

Half the jury were American and the President of the jury was Quentin Tarantino, so all the lurking freepers reading this can stick that right up you're asses.

6. Make room for another Oscar!
Michael Moore's got a big hit on his hands.

I can't wait to see it.

7. Gotta love Disney.
They did Michael a big favor by trying to ban it. Now, everyone wants to see what all the fuss is about. This is going to kill the administration.
Boy, crucifixion movies seem to be all the rage lately!

Well, there are "crucifixion movies" and then there are "CRUCIFIXION MOVIES!"

Let's hope Bush doesn't ever rise again!!!

12. It will be big because it will show the "REAL" Iraq.
Edited on Mon May-24-04 11:50 AM by japanduh
Moore got an Oscar for "Bowling" at a time when everybody was still kind of in "9/11" fever and super-pro-Bush and war. I think a major reason was because of the never-before-seen Columbine shooting video-footage.

Now in this current environment where the 9/11 "haze" has lifted and its clear to most folks that Bush is a majorly retarded clueless jerk, people will be packing the theaters to catch a "real" glimpse of what Iraq is like for our soldiers. Something that the network news channels have been hiding under order from the Gestapo.

But in the end, the broadcast stations answer to the almighty buck, so when they notice that Moore is raking in the recognition for telling the truth about Iraq, the news stations will of course copycat him.
