The rest of the world doesn't understand why Bush is still in office:
Daine Rehm show today. Foreign journalists say that their citizens can't understand what is wrong with the American people that bush is still in office after so many mistakes (and lies).

I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe we need to change our government to a Parlimentary process or maybe we just need to exercise state recall laws for the Congress? Something has to give folks...Bush should not even be allowed to run for office again.

1. well . . .
I can't understand why he is still in office either.

I can't understand why he still has supporters (vehement supporters).

I can't understand why people think it's cool to rape and torture.

I can't understand why people think that citizens of other nations are expendable.

I can't understand why people believe there is a liberal media when the media continues to sucketh the man sausage of the Republicans.

4. welcome to DU
I agree, but I think the media has a lot to do with it. The RepubliCONs have been screaming "librul media" so loudly for such a long time that most think it is true. Even the otherwise openminded moderates.

If the 'mainstream' media truly reported things as they were, Bush would never have been elected.

6. This has taught me
to try not to make sense out of things that make no sense (if that makes sense!). Seriously, when one really thinks about all that's gone on, it literally boggles the mind. I've come to a conclusion (for myself) that I can't try to figure out why the teacher is screaming 1 + 1= 6 while I'm screaming 1 + 1= 2. I don't understand yet why I'm not supposed to try to figure it out but I'm working on trying to get to that understanding. I DO believe this though, that all of the individuals responsible for what they have created in the world (including the bought off media)will have karmic ramifications for their actions - I believe that the pain they have caused others will come back to them 10 fold (I've read a lot of near death experience books).

7. Blair is he better question
since he operates under a parliamentary system that could dump him by simple majority vote of the parliament.

It's much harder under our system to get a 2/3 removal vote from the senate after an impeachment trial.

Probably most Europeans can't understand why Bush is still in power because they don't have a clue how our system works.

When I was an exchange student in Austria in 1980, people would ask me whether Carter or Kennedy would be the next president. They had no conception of a primary system or how it worked.
