Is Kerry Going to Respond to Tonight's Speech??
I know he will not be given air time; but I would like to know if he intends to respond. Tonight launches a massive (and free) propaganda campaign to assure the people that Bush has a plan in Iraq and that it is working. DON'T laugh. Remember this is the same regime that lied the hapless Americans into war and convinced 70-75% of them that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. It takes basically nothing to sway the "I'm sooo impressed with a plastic turkey crowd".

This time we can't let Bush pour the Kool-Aid without interference. There cannot be silence from a brooding prince. Something has to be said even if it's a brief press release that says "Bush revealed nothing new this evening but simply re-packaged the same ineffective handling of this situation". There will be a certain bump in the polls. After these months of pounding, if we don't hold him where he is and he rises, it's going to be very difficult to get him down again. If he can half pull this out with just a certain group of Americans, we can't keep playing the "wait for him to destruct" strategy. By tomorrow morning we need to hear at least two sentences from Kerry.

Nothing I would like better to see
but, knowing how Bush operates, I would say that Kerry is better off no addressing Bush's points. He can come back with quips, but I do not think he needs to follow Bush's points here. Remember Bush has six more speeches ahead--he can alter his approach according to what Kerry says, should Kerry respond to any of his crap.

I think Kerry should stick with challenging Bush to debates, and making little quips

12. I think it was Napoleon who said
"Never interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake," or something to that effect. Kerry doesn't need to do anything but let Bush destroy himself.

2. He should be allowed equal air time.
Then he should say when asked about the * speech "I was wondering why the RNC has been demanding a statement of what I would do. I guess they needed my help with that. But I seriously doubt if anyone of consequence watched * anyway."

4. How Do You Respond To Bush's Standard Theme . . .
That the insurrengency and increased attacks shows that his plans are working, and the rebels, er terrorists, are getting desparate?

Kinda like Rush's response to the uproar when he said that Donavan McNabb was overrated due to his race, "The cacophany of outrage means that I'm right."

6. Easy Call!!! Bush Confuses Failure With Success
Bush warned that “as the Iraqi people move closer to governing themselves, the terrorists are likely to become more active and more brutal. There are difficult days ahead, and the way forward may sometimes appear chaotic.”

Hey, the reason why things are so bad, is because Bush's policies are working! I can't wait until we have President who does not confuse failure with success.
