Taking a moment to spell out my gratitude to my fellow DUers

The political air quality in America right now roughly resembles that of rush hour Atlanta in August. I am seriously wondering where I am going to be in a year. Am I going to live in a progressing country? Am I going to live in a right-wing dictatorship? Am I going to be a PhD student, or will I have been drafted and have a gun in my hands? Without Democratic Underground and voices like mine, the world would be an even scarier place for me. I am so glad to have the feeling of being part of something bigger, a group of people who want to bring about positive change in the country my forefolks helped found and defend. Whatever happens to us, whether we all get carted off to "terra-ist" incarceration centers, or we hear John Kerry's voice reading a hopeful inauguration address, I will always know that my commerades at DU have made my life a little easier and made me feel a stronger when I have needed it most.
