"Full Sovereignty" is a LIE
Bush keeps talking about granting Iraq "full sovereignty" on June 30. But as the following news report demonstrates - THIS IS ANOTHER BUSH LIE!

New UN Resolution Gives Broad Powers to U.S. Troops
The United States and Britain asked U.N. members on Monday to endorse a hand-over of power to a new Iraqi interim government but proposed U.S. troops could "take all measures" to keep order. The draft U.N. Security Council resolution, which asks for support for a U.S.-led multinational force, however, gives no date for the withdrawal of foreign troops. It is also silent on the future of U.S. prisons and Iraqi control over its own forces.
Reuters - May 24, 2004

The Bush sovereignty fraud goes to the United Nations (the debating society, remember) to try and gain some legitimacy. If the U.S. military occupation force would have the power to "take all measures" to keep order, then the Iraqis obviously are not controlling or making decisions about their own country.

3. This is the Big Lie of tonight. Will "full sovereignty" become as infamous
as the sixteen words about Iraq purchasing uranium from Africa? When it becomes well known that "full" isn't all that full, bush won't be able to say that circumstances caused them to change their plan--there's already been testimony to Congress that sovereignty will be very limited. Yet bush tells the world tonight that they will transfer full sovereignty.

6. You got it...
with 14 American military bases, the largest US embassy in the world and John "Death Squad" Negroponte as ambassador, only a complete idiot would think Iraq will have ANYTHING resembling "sovreignty".

The Iraqis know, we know it -- and too many stupid Americans DON'T know it.

There will be a coloful ceramony with lots of patriotic speeches on June 30th -- all broadcast live on TV, or course -- and on July 1st nothing whatsoever will have changed.

7. Yeah, Full Sovereignty until
the "Iraqi Terra-ists" pull "another" attack on US soil, then nobody will remember anything about his "Full Sovereignty" comment.

How much do you want to bet that there is another attack (that will be blamed on the Iraqi/AlQaeda Bugaboo before June 30th?

8. Plan for Iraq will leave America as dominant voice
the reality on the ground will be very different: the new Iraqi administration will be short-lived with limited authority and America will remain the dominant voice for the foreseeable future.

A US general will retain "unity of command" over all coalition forces, including the embryonic Iraqi army and police force, foreign troops will enjoy immunity from Iraqi law and there will be no fixed date for their departure.

11. I wonder what will happen the first time
an Iraqi policeman tries to arrest an American soldier?

Iraq will have full sovereignty except where we don't want them to have it.
