Is it just me or was Dubya's speech a non-event?
I am seeing almost no coverage of it today and last night the local news here in the Twin Cities didn't even have it has the lead story. I thought this was supposed to be some major Gettysburg-like speech? If Dubya's approval ratings don't go up after this he is in major doo-doo.

1. It Was A Non-Event
Just the same BS in front of the military to showcase his "leadership" qualities to the Freeper Sheeple.

2. No one carried it in Houston.
Of course it was going up against some type of home painting reality show or something like that. Tough competition.

3. Flat - nobody cares
Bush didn't really say anything new except that fairy-tale bullshit about tearing Abu Ghraib, down. What that will accomplish is beyond me.

The vast majority of Republicans have IQs below 40.

5. I guess it was because of the time (5:00 p.m.) here
but every local news station carried the speech pre-empting their news cast.

6. It did what it was supposed to do
Dominate all the news coverage on the morning shows and stop coverage of the prison torture coverup. Sometimes the chatter after the speech is more important than the speech itself, and this is one of those times.

BTW, they must've put the concealer on with a trowel.

10. One of his daughters, yes, but him? no thanks
Yeah, I watched the whole wretched thing. No specifics, not more than two major lies

"the vast majority of the Iraqi people support our effort"

"misbehavior of a few" (referring to Abu Ghraib prison torture)

Considering he had a captive audience (War College) and considering that they had orders when and for how long to cheer and applaud, it was boring, uneventful, and pointless. Meaning he scored very, very few points.

Let's see how Little Goergie's hit parade continues, with 5 more speechifing orationizing spin talks scheduled from now 'til June 30.

All but the Fascist (err Republican) true believers and the really stupid have turned against him. Which means he has struck rock bottom.
