307 troops dead during Iraq war.
It was 254 when Bush said to "Bring them on."

1. And would you believe I heard
"54" (or fifty-something, whatever it was) cited by one of the talking heads in the last day or so?

Unbelievable.

2. And many many more to come
before its over - so sad and unnecessary. Add to this the 800+ wounded and the more than 100 sick from the "mystery" illness.

3. The Busheviks are gaming the numbers as they always do
And of course our fine Corporate TV Pravda lets them get away with it.

And of course the fine Imperial Subjects of Amerika that live in the Empire with us (but are OF the Empire, whereas we Free Americans are just trapped behind the Bushevik occupation force lines) can't tell the difference between their assholes and a hole in the ground, by and large, unless the TV tells them 12 times
tells them 12 times
tells them 12 times
tells them 12 times
tells them 12 times.

Lotta "accidental" deaths over there in Imperial Freedomstan, aren't there?

4. Tinfoil Hat: Why isn't the WP Updating their "Faces of the Fallen" site?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/world/iraq/casualties/facesofthefallen.htm?nav=hptop_ts

They used to update it weekly, but seems to have stopped.
(???)

(Non tin-foil hat assumption: The updater is on summer vacation)

6. we need to make people aware of this...
Edited on Tue Aug-12-03 01:07 PM by stoptheinsandity
does anyone think that it's possible to organize something like this (just an idea that i had yesterday)?

A person in every city (or at least as many major cities as we can get) holds a sign saying "Bush lied, 307 soldiers have died. Will someone you know be the next to die for a lie?" at a highly visible location during rush hour/lunch hour. And someone different does it every day, or people do it on shifts. Is this even reasonable/is there any way it could be done, even on a smaller scale (i.e. does anyone think that they could get enough du'ers <or members of other progressive organizations, I don't have a clue> together in their city to keep something like this going for at least a few weeks, if only for hours a day?) I just think that it would create some great visibility, get people thinking, and also be a good way to get some media coverage (b/c, at the very least, it would be controversial). Any thoughts? Just an idea...
on edit: spelling
