In this day and age cynicism is perhaps looked upon
as the only answer, with decisions made not to
maximize good, but to minimize evil (on a personal
level). However, some people have mined a much richer
vein, that of righteous indignation. Indignation is
the light created by the fires of cynicism; it is the
purifying flame of cynicism pushed beyond the point of
idleness. Indignation is what happens when you realize
that indifference, no matter how hip it might appear,
is a dead-end street. Luckily, while some people just
ignore the big issues (out of fear or ignorance - it
amounts to the same thing, doesn't it?) or avoid doing
anything but pissing in the wind, there are bands like
the halliburton(s), a band that has decided that to
remain idle is to endorse evil. Featuring the musical
leadership of jazz protégé Nathan Bell, the
halliburton(s) offer up funky, acoustic based tunes
that allow the listen to groove while absorbing and
digesting the lyrics, intelligent (and often humorous)
lyrics of righteous indignation and scathing attacks
on the current regime that has pushed the United
States into a despicable war that serves only to fill
