Could James Baker Replace Rumsfeld?
http://www.washingtonian.com/thismonth/capcom.html

A Hat Trick for Baker?

K Street insiders are betting that Donald Rumsfeld will leave the Bush Cabinet by midsummer. His replacement? Not Paul Wolfowitz, as some Pentagon watchers think, but that old reliable James Baker.

With support for the Iraq war slipping, the appointment of a high-profile international figure like Baker would help quiet critics who claim the Bush White House, in Washington Post columnist Robert Kagan’s words, “has no clue about what to do in Iraq tomorrow, much less a month from now.”

For Baker, taking over the top job at Defense would complete an unprecedented hat trick—holding the three most powerful Cabinet positions. The 74-year-old Texan served as Ronald Reagan’s Treasury secretary and George H.W. Bush’s Secretary of State.

imo ... he's been involved in the background ...

the shadow government knows ... he has to keep abreast of events ...

the logistics in the background must be quite hectic right now (the Texas Shuffle) ... just everything going on involves Poppy and him ... whether it's The Carlyle Group or the United-States Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce http://www.usacc.org ... Saudi Arabia ... whatever ... BFEE business must currently mirror government policy with DimSon playing pResident on TV ... they have a lot to juggle ... domino effect could be devastating to the BFEE ... they've really pulled out all stops in what appears as a all-out Last Hurrah gold rush to riches and power ...
