If Bush had a shred of honour .......
This is what he should be saying:

"I have today asked for and received the resignation of Donald
Rumsfeld as secretary of Defense..."

(snip)

"And I am announcing now that I will neither seek nor accept my
party's nomination for a second term as your president."

The buck stops on your desk, George. Do the right thing.

LBJ went up 12 points in the polls when he abdicated in 1968.

5. He wouldn't know "honor"
If it knocked him off his bicycle on the road to Damascus.

How many yrs from now will we hear about his drunken, finger-on-the-red-button, rants - a la Nixon???

Or offed, more likely. However, the genes for sociopathy must be dominant on both sides of the family tree. There doesn't seem to be an honorable person anywhere for several generations.
