Any post-speech polls out yet?
I'm wondering if he got a bump, or if it fell flat (hence the Terra alert).

1. Speech sank like an anvil... The man just cannot deliver despite
all them hours of training. For 4 years now, with the Nations best speech writers and teachers, Bush cannot learn to deliver a speech effectively. He is one lost mongrel from Tuva.

2. No polls needed!
Yup, you're right. It bombed (damn those puns)big time. The "terra" alert immediately following on the heels of the speech is the best indicator of all.

A new Iraq speech, but same policy

"They want to do something spectacular," one federal law enforcement official said referring to al Qaeda. Attorney General John Ashcroft and FBI Director Robert Mueller called a 2 p.m. EDT news conference to discuss the threat and seek the public's help.

The officials said the United States has obtained intelligence deemed credible, but not specific, on place, time or method of an attack. They said it could involve a chemical, biological or nuclear weapon.

In New York, the police department said it remained on a heightened state of alert but had not been warned of a possible attack against the city.

"Nor have we been advised that terrorists are known to be in the United States actively plotting such an attack," Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said in a statement.

(Woman terra suspect arrested April, 2003!)
A former Boston woman sought by the FBI for questioning about possible ties to the al-Qaida terror network is in custody in Pakistan, U.S. law enforcement officials said Tuesday.
Two officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Aafia Siddiqui, 31, was detained by Pakistani authorities in the past few days and was being interrogated at an undisclosed location. She originally is from Pakistan.

I mean, obviously HS threw this crap together without much thought. In their usual sloppy manner,in other words, with an eye only toward momentary gain and not toward the consequences of telling lies.
