Alan Colmes Radio Show
What do you think of him?

I think for what is on am talk radio he is decent.

Anything I am missing about him?
He comes across as pretty thoughtful and brings up history, to point out rightwing hypocrisy, at key times.

I don't think he goes far enough sometimes but all in all I like listening to him.

4. The typical Alan Colmes statement...
"I support <insert name here>, but I don't agree with him criticizing the president like this. It doesn't help our side of politics."

5. A weak pussy....

If I met him I would act like I was going to backhand him and when he winced, I would point at him and laugh.

6. is there anything you are missing about him?
Edited on Thu May-27-04 10:18 PM by soundgarden1
well, kinda. he's a "centrist", probably even slightly to the right of center, its just when compared to the rabid right, he Colmes across as liberal (i couldnt resist). That, and Putting him with Shawn Hannity is the equivalent of putting a nice white fluffy bunny rabbit in a cage with a wolverine. So, he's a tool. Not only is he a tool, but he knows it and doesn't mind all that much.

9. Colmes is a centrist who occasionally leans left
"now....now....now Sean I don't necessarily agree with you....I don't like you characterizing lib....liberals like that, we're not extreme and....oh ok, you have the last word.

"ok we're out of time........Greta I know you have a couple of perverted sex/kidnapping cases on your show that nobody cares about"

14. the only way I know who he is...
Used to be the token lib on a now defunct local station about 6 years ago...(before election 2000)...I thought he was pleasant enough personality but when it came to conservative callers he went too quickly into "Casper Milquetoast" mode...ultimately frustrating...but still I listened as opposed to whatever right-wing madmen were on the other channels...

I don't have cable tv, I've never watched Hannity &Colmes but it seems his rep has suffered...

He's like a minor player to me in the talk nation (kinda like one of the minor monsters in the Godzilla movies)

15. I think he's underrated...
He tailors his rhetoric to his audience on Fox and I think he does well. Who knows, he might actually persaude some of the mostly conservative audience that watches the show. In my younger, conservative days I remember watching Kinsley host Crossfire. Kinsley's centrist and logically tight arguments really had an impact on me, opening the door up just a crack so the light could finally start shining in.

17. I heard His show once
Edited on Fri May-28-04 08:05 PM by chimpsrsmarter
when we were driving back from Las Vegas, it must of been around 11:00pm, of course he had the graveyard shift, no surprise there. For the 10 minutes i heard him before the signal died he spent most of his time apologizing for the rhetoric that real liberals use. It was pretty unfortunate.
