Whats happening with the Bush visit to Ireland?
Edited on Fri May-28-04 12:27 AM by Lou_C
The last that I heard about it they didn't want him or his entourage in Ireland.

Is he still going to go to Ireland or not?

Bush is hated all over the world and we hate him in this country.
I wonder if he is the most hated man since Hitler?

5. What frightens me is we/America may be the most hated country ever
BECAUSE OF Bush*. The world is looking towards Nov 2 to see what we do. If Bush* is re-elected I fear for our safety as a nation. Its one thing to have terrorists actively seek your demise, its quite another to have the world.

10. C-SPAN aired the Irish Dail (their congress) the other day
Representative after representative after representative stood up and just ripped Bush to shreds for everything he has done from the build up to the war to the present. They know what's going on. They can't stand the fact that the U.S. is using Shannon Airport to land and refuel planes, have meetings, etc., in connection with the Iraq war.

THEY HATE US and I don't blame them.

13. I don't think they hate us.
They pity us for what the machinery of government has done to us. They would know all about that sort of thing. They feel sorry for us because bu$h has been foisted upon us by robber barons, something else they would know everything about.

They make a proper distinction between us and the leaders who have been appointed in our names. They know exactly how that shit works!

We have the sympathy and the prayers of the Irish. Thank Goddess for 'em all!

15. "Protests at Shannon to greet Bush: press conference announces details"
From Ireland's Intermedia. "Today" in the story is May 28, 2004 (that is, today):

A press conference will be held at 2pm today at the Teachers' Club, Parnell Square, Dublin, to announce details of protests to be held at Shannon when President Bush arrives in the country. Anti-War Ireland will be represented by Dr Fintan Lane; Dublin Grassroots Network by Clare Lee; and Ambush2004 by Caoimhe Butterly.

George W. Bush will be met by a series of anti-war demonstrations when in arrives in Ireland at the end of June. Anti-War Ireland, a broad-based national alliance of anti-war groups, has called a demonstration for Friday evening, 25 June, to protest at the presence of the US president as he arrives in the country. This will be followed by another demonstration on Saturday, which will be organised jointly by Anti-War Ireland, the Dublin Grassroots Network, and Ambush2004.
