Just shoot me!

Thats how I feel sometimes.

I just called my Congressman's office (Porter Goss, yea I know what can I say) to get the make-up of the House of Representatives. She told me to search the internet for the information!

I said What if I don't have the Internet, she then said you can go to your local library & get the information. I then said then why do we have you in Washington & she said to do the work of the people , not answer their questions.

I said thanks for all your help, I will call Senator Grahams office to get the answer! I called Senator Grahams office & the lady that answered the phone cheerfully gave me the information & asked me why i didn't contact my house member? I told her the story & she said sorry to hear that. I thanked her again for her time

About fifteen minutes after I hung up the phone from Senator Grahams office, I received a call from Porter Goss's office with an apology that the information was not given to me.

or tortured - you done good!

and explained that you were cheerfully helped by someone else's office.

I can just imagine that the person who answered your call this morning was re-telling the story of what she told you and the more seasoned office person said "You said WHAT? That was a constituent for heaven's sake!"

Don't they bother to train the people they put on the phones anymore--particularly in the office of a politician!

trying not to work for our tax dollars - OR it could have been Omarossa.......... just a thought.

Sounds like there's a position in Goss' office that could use some outsourcing. :evilgrin:
