Italy: hanging hooded manniquins (as Iraq prisoners) on metro trains
now there's a non-violent GREAT protest idea....rush hour in DC or NY, it'd take a while to remove those....and it would bring the torture of POWs right into people's faces.....gosh...some Metro Trains in DC carry a LOT of pentagon people to work everyday, and they could SEE the reality of bush* occupation....

"If a criminal of the caliber of Bush is given the red carpet treatment, then rage is the right reaction," said Luca Casarini, one of Italy's best-known anti-globalization figures.

"Confronted by a heavily defended Rome that is looking to protect that terrorist Bush, the only thing to do is break the rules," he told La Stampa newspaper.

"I fear some bangs," the president of Rome's regional government, Francesco Storace, told Corriere della Sera newspaper. "There's a gang of irresponsible people playing with fire." When asked if by bangs he meant bombs, Storace was quoted as saying: "Ultimately, yes."

In a sign of discontent over the situation in Iraq, several hooded mannequins were suspended on trains in Rome's metro (subway) system Thursday.

The mannequins, apparently meant to look like the images of Iraqi prisoners abused by U.S. soldiers, were hanging by the neck and had signs accusing Bush of "exporting torture."

3. people in DC would just sit there and do nothing, except perhaps
try to dial someone on a cell phone....

two years ago, a small child got onto the Metro Train during rush hour, and his mom with two other children were left on the platform when the doors shut....the passengers on the train did NOTHING while the small child went to the back of the train crying for his mom, and OPENED UP THE EMERGENCY DOOR, fell out and was electricuted on the third rail....

so, if there were 'hooded manniquins' hanging in Metro train cars, people would likely just sit there and continue to get on and off the trains....

it would be such a GREAT non-violent protest....

4. I Live in Washington
I use Metro every work day.

I do not remember the incident you describe.

Do you have a link?

I think you may owe those of us who do ride Metro and who do care about others an apology.
