How will Bush be treated after he loses the Presidency?
I have always firmly believed that GWB is simply a front man for corporate interests with little or no actual talent except the willingness to whore himself out to whomever supports his ambition. So with that in mind I have come to the conclusion that after he has lived out his usefullness to his Republican patrons he will be largely discarded as a national figure, even by Republicans.

I just can't see him having the same appeal that his father( I know he's lame too but he was respected overseas), Clinton, Reagan, etc..have. I can't see him being paid to speak at business conferences in Japan or Switzerland. I can't see him being in high demand for the US lecture circuit of universities and business gatherings.

I truly feel that his 'legacy' will be the least celebrated of an American president in history.

Except for that guy who died after 2 weeks or so back in the 1800's.

Thoughts?

1. He'll either be discarded by the right, or...
Turned into a sort of martyr...

Who gives a fuck? I hope he falls off the planet...

The steadfast Christian President, betrayed by his advisors and savaged by a relentless "liberal media".

3. He should be tried for War Crimes
Edited on Fri May-28-04 01:13 PM by Chicago Democrat
Along with Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Fiefe.. et al.

Journalists that colluded...

should all be prosecuted under Geneva Convention.

And they all should be punished as in Nuremburg.

4. One can only hope VERY BADLY.
As befits a criminal of his stature and the titular head of a Crime Organization.

6. He will quietly disappear and
Rebulicans will disavow and knowledge of him. Four years from now you won't be able to find a single person in the US who will admit to having voted for him.

9. I could see a couple things
He could be kind of an Ollie North figure and show up on the talk circuit from time to time, but on the other hand he speaks so poorly he might be totally discarded and forgotten as other have suggested. I think the only reason repubs liked him to start was because they thought he could win and when that's over............

10. When he is no longer the mascot
for the Fascist Right, he will be absolutely useless. Nobody will want anything to do with him.

His only purpose is being the poster boy for the neo-cons. When he outlives his usefulness in that role, even his own kind will wake up and realize that he has NOTHING to offer.

Personally, I hope he ends up in prison and is treated like the prisoners at Abu Ghraib.

16. Maybe Just One Book, That one on Goats
Bush* obviously found it a fascinating read there in the classroom
while airplanes were crashing into the WTC and the Pentagon.

He just couldn't tear himself away until he finished it.

Surely the biggest terrorist attack of all time can wait a few minutes.

15. The guy can't speak at all!
It's sad. No lecture circuit for him. I'm sure Poppy'll find a slot at Carlyle for him, though.

Otherwise he'll be playing golf, smiling stupidly for the camera, and will have someone ghostwrite a totally specious memoir.

His "legacy" will be a coffee-table book of all the photo-ops.
