Did Arnold only do prison time for his AWOL from Austrian Army?

Google is either nicely cleaned up or I am not asking the correct question. I know Arnold did a short prison term for being AWOL from the Austrian Army (he once bragged about it and how his being a bodybuilder (a fact they learned about because his AWOL had a bodybuilding reason) was so important to Austrian Army he got out of all other duties.

Going from my memory (dating to the 86 wedding with Maria), I seem to recall that Arnold had a brother who died - And that before the Brother died, the brother was the favored one in the family where the father was a nut into putting down Arnold. And while the brother was alive (and Arnold quite young)he was known for his own temper and lack of control - at one point assaulting a women, going to Court, and then to jail for that assault.

Now neither the prison time for AWOL(which is documented) nor any juvenile assault conviction - if true - is of interest - especially not for political purposes - the fellow was a kid - and today he is not a "bad" person - and is indeed, except for being GOP - a quite nice guy (albeit there are stories of his boundary issue problem with women).

What is of interest to me is why is it so hard to get info on his brother - or on his life before winning the Olympus contest? I swear it is like the web has been cleaned up of any "negative" history of any GOP person (this happened to all the Reagan rape stories that were on the Web in the 90's) if you search for it through Google.

Sorry, but he went AWOL to compete in a bodybuilders pageant, Mr. Europe or something like that. He thought it wasn't a big deal.

after age 36 you can't be drafted, correct, when the draft in in effect--which it was then.

One of my draftee buddies in the army was a German National working for Volkswagen in the United States when he got drafted.

Member of our VFW post came from poland, pop into the army, pop to VietNam.

I was having memory spasms the other day, but I was also having memory lapses, so I was hesitant to post, especially since I couldn't find anything to jog my memory. But I remember some scuttlebutt someone told me back when I was a bartender about Arnold using this gay guy to get his Green Card and then shutting him out of his life once he wasn't any use to him anymore.

Joe Weider is the self-proclaimed "Trainer of Champions." Weider's schtick was financially supporting promising young bodybuilders in order to use them to sell sleazy nutritional supplements in his magazines like "Muscle & Fitness" and "Flex." As far as I know, I don't think Arnold provided Weider with any other 'services.'

There are some rumors about Arnold using gay men to get some things he desired, but these rumors seem to suggest Arnold was more of a tease than 'service provider.'

Also at the time I didn't really care. It was my job to listen to my customers or at least to pretend to. But now, when something comes up, it often jogs my memory of a thousand seemingly pointless and gossipy conversations.

...there were some interesting tidbits in that book. I also seem to remember reading in this book that he used a racial slur against a black bodybuilder named Sergio Oliva.

I remember it was either the Enquirer or Star Magazine had a story about Arnold having gay affairs and a sugar Daddy. Any way of looking up old issues?

Frankly, I don't give a shit about what he did as a teenager in Austria.

What I care about is where is stands on the issues.

Power is an end to him, like finally developing that perfect muscle build after so many workouts. Once you achieve that, where do you go? The journey is what interests him. This was Jesse Ventura's fault. Once he achieved what he aimed for, he didn't know where to go anymore. The challenge was gone and there was nothing but dirt to clean up. Arnie is the same. Neither of these guys are stupid, but they are products of their enormous egos.

I know there are superficial things Arnie wants to change and the governorship will give him the power to do so. Other than that he doesn't give a shit about anything or anyone else.
