"We've found WMDs, and yet the media is silent"
If anyone has been to a RW website recently, this has become the newest talking-point. But it's all bullshit. The Sarin gas shell we found was old and left over from the Iran-Iraq War. It wasn't even potent when it blew up, and the most it could do is water someone's eyes and make them quesy. It's interesting that they don't take David Kay's debunking into consideration, when he said that Iraq had old shell around because Saddam was stupid enough not to label them, and yet the Freepers think that's a violation of the UN resolution 1441.

1. I'm seeing a lot of that line of BS
followed by the evil "Librul media" not showing Bush's Monday night pablum-puke of a speech. "It's a traitorous librul conspiracy I tell ya!"

2. I get it
Weapon = Ok the shell is a weapon, good point.
Mass = 2 soldiers, wow that's quit a lot.
Destruction = Aforementioned soldiers were sick.

Well that takes care of that. $191 billion for that "shell". Quite the imminent threat. Within 45 minutes, someone in the USA could be sick from that shell.

Well, everyone's now safer. Oh, wait Al Qaeda ranks are swelling because of the Iraq War, new terra alert(do they have WMD's from Iraq?) sounds like there's incompentency in this misadministration.

OK, it's time for the grown ups to be in charge. Vote Kerry!

3. They so desperately want there to be WMD's in Iraq
Have you ever wanted something to be true so badly but that hope fades and you have this hollow feeling like everything you've always believed is true is no longer so? That's what they're going through. Wait tilll the disillusionment sets in.

4. Ha!! Wishfull thinking.
Their talking points are unraveling before the nation. They're also trying to blame the Iraq war on Clinton.

5. It's the first stage -- DENIAL
Anybody who's human then hits the next stage. ANGER.

Somebody help me out with the rest.

The final one is, of course, acceptance.

6. Their latest idea....
A "Patriot TV Network" ...The real stories, Good patriotic news.
They were thinkin' Murdock has enough cash. They said "like their own Soros". No "left wing" liberal crap. "Patriot Channel, No PC"
Apparently the similarities to "Tass" went unconsidered.
Those people are like children, sometimes.

...saw that thread today.

9. the first couple days after it was found
there was literally stories on every cable network every hour. All over some rusted out dud shell an insurgent probably found in a firing range.

12. Good observation
I think you have something there.
One of the armchair Generals on CNN said that it was designed to kill something like 15 people.
I'd think the shell exploding would take out 5, or so. ... big deal. "Weapon of Medium Damage" Sarin has to make contact with the skin to cause injury.

11. A shell
leftover from the Iran-Iraq war is no WMD:

1) A frickin' shell cannot hit the US
2) Unlabeled weapons are hard to account for
3) In an arsenal of millions of shells, if a small number of those are loaded with chemical weapons and inadvertantly left undeclared, I can't blame Iraq - after all, could the government find all firearms and potential explosives in NYC if given only a few weeks to do it? Imagine that over a nation larger than California with an ineffective military and (at times) weak government.
