Just got off the phone with my repuke brother-in-law

and he's laughing telling me that he ran into a Dem friend and told him, "even if I was a democrat I wouldn't vote for Kerry." I asked him why and he says, "he's too wishy-washy". I blasted him on several things then handed the phone to my husband. He is the poster child for the ignorant repuke as well as a hopeless case. I can't stand talking to people like this anymore. UGHHHH!!!!!!

I have had absolutely zero contact with my in-laws since thanksgiving day 2000...a day which will live in infamy for many families, i'm sure.

All I EVER hear a Repuke say is whatever Rush OxyContin Limbaugh (have you guys seen the weight he has put on since stopping the pain pills. Pain pills knock your appetite. That is how he got so almost under 300 lbs I suppose. Also, large doses of pain meds cause hearing loss. You would have thought he would have figured this out when he lost his hearing), Sean Hannity (disgusting) say. They have no minds of their own, so they just parrot what these two idiots drivel out of their mouths.

I know we have a free press; however, I think we should have some kind of responsibility with it. They spout lie after lie after lie, and no one makes them prove it. All the Repukes think is if they listen to these two intellectually challenged idiots, then they have learned all they need to know about Kerry or any dem.

I do not understand how they can sit there and lie day after day. But these intellectual idiots have village idiots carrying their message for them. The village idiots are lazy and do not want to know the truth. They just want to hear someone who supposedly thinks like they do, that makes them feel superior, and proves to them in their little idiot village lives that they are morally right about all the issues, and are better Christians then any dem could ever be.

I wonder if they know Laura Bush is pro choice. Also, Barbara Bush is pro choice. So next time if they are voting repuke to try to save the aborted babies, make that point clear to them. Then ask what they think of their first lady. She must be going to hell with all us dems and jews.

and stay calm (VERY difficult, I know, especially when you have a history). Tell them that changing your mind when the facts change is a sign of maturity. I myself have done it many times. So has Bush (on Chalibi, on dimissing the Iraqi army, on going after Sahr, on whether there are WMD in Iraq, on the question of whether Saddam was involved in 9-11, on whether we would be greated with roses in Iraq, on whether the Iraq oil fields could pay for this war etc.)

Staying the course when the facts change and you know you are wrong is a sign of immaturity, or worse.

Force them to give examples. I'll bet a dollar to a Thanksgiving turkey they can't come up with one. They might bring up the "first I voted for it, then I voted against it" vote on the continuing resolution to fund the Iraq war. Well, George W. Bush was first against that same legislation, then he was for it! So is George Bush equally wishy-washy?

Or, just to save time, when someone says Kerry is wishy washy, you can say, "Unlike George W. Bush, who is often wrong but never in doubt. I'm just tired of his clear vision getting so many people killed, and wasting so much of our national treasury."

What is so funny is that back in 2000 my mother-in-law lectured my husband about becoming too closed minded about poltics as she said he always assumes the dems are in the right. Now when you bring up all of Bush's failures, she doesn't want to hear it and tries to turn it around on the dems or "blames the media". HA!

family that are right wingers(I can't call my own parents repukes), it can be very sticky. Naturally, raised in a right wing Republican with a capital R household, I learned from the cradle to respect my elders so disagreements of any kind are difficult for me. Also, I do love and respect them and have to credit their values for making me the person I am today. I have to struggle with not wanting the small amount of time I get to spend with them reduced to arguing about politics, so I avoid the topic completely. And I mean completely. This isn't easy, since they are in no way liberal, reasonable Republicans. They are strident, and lap up everything Pigboy and others say. They openly quote Pigboy in a challenging way, and leave all of Ann Coulter's books around the house. At least, they never offer to lend them to me anymore, so I guess that's progress:) The bottom line is this can be very painful, and I REALLY envy those of you with liberal parents. My only liberal relative is my husband, whose relatives are also all Republican. x( So, be grateful if your closest relatives are at least reasonable politically. You'll never know how easy you have it.
