45,000 registrations since Jan. '01. That includes disruptors, people who registered and drifted off, people who registered under one name and decided they wanted to change to another...the number of actual, active members who read and post in the forums on anything like a regular basis is probably +/-10K. (And that might be a little high.)

In reality: We all see the same 5000 or so names all the time, and lots of freep disruptors and lurkers.

But the damn number is still pretty impressive, dammit!


I still think it's something of a milestone, just to have reached that number: 45000.

According to our software, 4,700 different registered member IP addresses are logged by our message board on the average day. Unfortunately, our software doesn't track the number of guest IP addresses visiting the message board. It's supposed to, but it doesn't work and we haven't fixed the problem yet.

We do have a relatively primative statistics package on our web server which monitors traffic to our website. According to that software, we get around 127,000 unique IP addresses visiting our website in a week. Of course, many of those IP addresses are from people who visit every day and have a different IP address every day. --snip--

Our traffic varies greatly day to day, but during the busy hours of a given day, there are usually between 900 and 1,400 unique users logged onto DU at any given time.
