"The Day After" Kerry needs to make a Major environmental speech!
Edited on Sun May-30-04 06:34 PM by trumad
Right now...not later but right now... I just saw the movie and the lines were long. The political ramifications of this movie are huge. JK needs to take big time advantage of the gift that was just given to him. Make a big policy speech with Global Warming on top of the list.

BTW: I loved the movie. If you're a Democrat it's especially even more enjoyable.

2. Didn't ya love the arrogant, anti-science vice-president?
He even looked like Chaney! And the president was an indecisive wimp, who when presented with a tough call, asked his vp, "what should I do?"
It was a powerful film and it is reaching a huge group of people who have never given a second thought to global warming, except to make fun of all environmentalists as "tree huggers."
I particularly liked that it was rated PG 13, so a large group of kids will have quite a scare put in them and come home and ask their parents about this.

4. Funny.
The environment is one place where I don't have a beef with him. He's solid in this demographic. There are other, more important, speeches to be made.
